Refugee Sponsorship Program as a Community

Overview

The African Baptist Ministries (ABM) serves as a Community to support refugees through their resettlement and integration processes in Canada. The program includes pre-visa application assistance, financial planning, and post-arrival support.

 Pre-Visa Application Support

1. Assessment and Application Preparation:

   – Evaluate the eligibility and needs of the refugee applicants.

   – Assist with the completion and submission of sponsorship applications to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

2. Financial Planning:

   – Calculate the necessary funds required for sponsorship based on the family size and community of settlement.

   – Ensure the sponsoring group has the full amount of required funds on hand before the newcomers arrive in Canada.

3. Sponsorship Costs Estimation:

ABM Supports people with sponsorship cost calculation.

 Support Upon Arrival:

1. Money Management Skills Training (1 month per cohort)

2. Skills Empowerment and Development (1 month per cohort)

3. Information Sharing, Guidance, and Referrals.

4. Counseling Services: Offering mental health counseling.
